In my unintended “sign” series here is the next installment.
I hear what you’re saying. I don’t think any of us are above being sucker-punched by love. Some people are just lucky. (And maybe there are others who are able to preserve themselves by refusing to love at all.) Deceit wouldn’t be deceit if people weren’t taken in by it. Even smart people, who are paying attention.
Thanks for another great article.
Thanks for commenting. I always forget that deceit wouldn’t be deceit if there wasn’t trust in the first place. And I don’t want to start a relationship without trust even if it turns out that trust wasn’t well placed. I’m learning to hit the “refresh” button on trust in my relationships with myself and others.
Oh, as a writer, I had revised the piece one more time before submitting it so it would be more clear and concise. That was a good lesson for me as I’m very quick to hit send when I feel done with something and not necessarily when the piece is actually done 🙂
